Pea sized painless lump around anus

Hi. First time using anything like this

i have a small pea size lump just outside my anus. The lump is painless and hard. At first i thought it might be a spot, on occasion I get them and they pass and normally are painful to touch and squeeze. This is different though and stayed the same size for 2-3 week.

not consulted my gp, yet. Have tried anusol cream and whilst I think it could have reduced, today it just feels the same size as a few weeks ago.

in terms of any other symptoms, I noticed some bright red blood on tissue after a number 2 but was extremely minimal, hence seeking the anusol cream. The lump doesn't inch and from what I can see isn't a different colour, just a bit red

any advice appreciated, thanks

  • Hello MrMarkt,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat! I think it would be a good idea to consult your GP about this lump outside your anus. This is something GPs are used to dealing with on a daily basis and your doctor will be able to tell you more about what it might be. Make sure you describe all the symptoms in detail.

I hope that you will also hear from others on the forum who have experienced similar issues before and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

Best of luck with your appointment. I hope this gets sorted quickly for you.

  • Thank you Lucie

I saw the GP today and they believe it's a cyst so some direction at least. I'm still nervous about it so will monitor over the next week or so.

I generally don't get nervous with anything but this has certainly got me. Feel better for going and will come back on here and report back

thanks again and best wishes to anyone reading this
