Lump on neck.

I've been trying not to drive myself crazy but it's not really working.

At the start of December, I noticed a hard, immovable lump on the side of my neck. It's very hard, fixed in place and when I put my fingers around it I'd guess it's approximately 2cm in diameter.

Last week I went to the doctors to get it checked out and they did a blood test for me. They said they were testing to see my white blood cells, red blood cells & platelets. On Monday I called up to ask about my results and they said I had to book an appointment for a week on Thursday because something has come back abnormal and they can't tell me over the phone.

Obviously I'm worried. The doctor asked about family history with cancer and also mentioned that although he wasn't saying it was, that cancer can always be a possibility.

So with that, my abnormal results (which are still a week away) and some unexplained bruising, I'm a little scared.

I'm 24 & although the doctor said I'm "probably too young" that's what the also said about my chronic health conditions, also.

Any advice or anecdotes would be really helpful!

  • Hey,

I'm currently going through a similar situation, the waiting around is torture! My experience is posted on the forum if you want to read it.

Have they offered you an appointment with an ENT yet? I would suspect that would be the next step if they can't give you the all clear as yet.

    Thoughts are with you.
