Neck Lump - Parotid Cyst?

Hi All, hope you are all in high spirits.

I've had a lump on my neck around 2cm in size directly underneath my earlobe and on my jawline for 3 months.

After seeing the GP, I was referred to the hospital for checks. They suspected a parotid tumour but when they took the biopsy it was full of liquid and said it was a cyst!

Now I'm waiting for the biopsy results but am unsure what to expect, is it likely im clear? Will this need removed through surgery? Is it still cancerous?

I'm booked for a CT Scan in 3 weeks and will get my results then but I've already been waiting months, the stress is next level.

Anyone with similar experience or who has any questions id love to hear from you

  • Hello Matt7285

I'm sorry to hear that you're still waiting for information on the lump that you found a few months ago. We know that for many people waiting for results can be a difficult period of time. The unknown can be a scary prospect to face and it's understandable that many people feel anxious.

This interesting article on the Saga website has some advice about coping with the wait but it can also help to talk your concerns through with someone. If you think that chatting with one of our nurses might help then you're most welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

Hopefully, you will have some news soon from the team about what they've found and they will be able to give you some reassurance about things.

    Best wishes,
