Hard fixed lump in breast

Hello

Just before Christmas I felt a large lump in my left breast. I haven't felt it before but have been losing weight so think this made it more prominent. I was finally able to get in to the doctors yesterday, who said she was sending a fast track referral to the breast clinic. The lump is approx 4cm wide, very hard, irregular shape, is deep in my breast and doesn't move. She said I also have enlarged lymph nodes in my collar bone and arm pit on the same side.

My doctor said I should get an appointment in 2 weeks but told me to give them a ring this morning to see if I can get in as soon as possible. I did but they said due to staff shortages (covid) I probably won't get an appointment for 3 to 4 weeks!

I was ok waiting for a doctors appointment, but now I'm panicking. Not sure if it's just reality hitting me or my doctors urgency scaring me. To wait up to 4 weeks is going to be so difficult.

Can I ask what other peoples lumps felt like before diagnosis.

Sorry for the long post

Sorry to hear you have a long wait too. I discovered my breast lump on 12th Dec. Telephone consultation with GP on 13th, saw him f2f on 15th & got my appointment through on 17th Dec for 19th January. The wait has been awful. Thankfully I had Christmas in the middle so that was a bit of a welcome distraction but this last week or two has gone so unbelievably slow. And as someone else said, I'm so paranoid about getting covid & having to miss my appointment on Wednesday. I think I would go out of my mind.

Obviously I'm still waiting but my lump is also in my left breast & feels deep inside, hard, long (not round) & kind of rooted. I don't feel it's grown any since I noticed it.

While it's scary reading other peoples stories on here, its also really comforting just to know you're not alone at whatever stage we're  at. People are so helpful & honest & I really find that helps me.

I'm just 2 days away from my appointment now & my anxiety is really kicking in! It can't come soon enough!

Best of luck & really hope you manage to get seen sooner x
