I've been referred urgently to specialist gynaecology services for suspected cancer. 
I've just been advised by my GP secretary that my 2 week referal could actually take 4-6 weeks because of delays due to covid. 
I'm beside myself with worry, and to find out I have to wait 3x longer is just fuelling the fear more! This delay can result in later diagnosis for people, and I cannot believe this is happening! 
I just wondered if everyone is finding the delays, cos if it's just my local hospital I wonder if I could ask to be referred elsewhere, even if I have to travel?

I'm in the North East.
