Indeterminate breast calcifications

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?  I went into breast clinic with another lump (I've had numerous fluid filled cysts over the last four years).  That was all fine but they flagged up calcifications on the other side.  I was really shocked.  I've got a biopsy next week and I'm in that horrible inbetween place of not knowing and worrying.  Is this likely to be DCIS?  Thanks x

  • Hi Vicki,

So good to hear from you and it's amazing you are nearly done with the paclitaxel. Must feel really good to be so close to that milestone. Super proud of you for getting through it all with such a positive outlook. You're a star!

Is it surgery next? You will smash that too!

I'm doing good! Had radiotherapy a couple of weeks ago and just waiting on follow up on 11th August.

Have a little lump in my affected boob but expect its scar tissue or something. Breast clinic said to wait a couple of weeks as it might be hardening due to the radiotherapy so will see. Not overly worried just be good to have some reassurance!

Thank you for getting in touch and letting me know how you are doing.

Lots of luck for the final dose and do stay in touch!

    Lots of love xx

  • Hello ladies,

I've kept meaning to come on here and see how you were all doing, but my health anxiety wouldn't let me!! I've just been recalled for my annual mammogram after my benign biopsy last year. But the whole thing has filled me with dread of reliving it all again!
I paid for a private Thermagram (thermal breast imaging), as it's 100% safe and non invasive. I just got the report back and there are some areas of concern, possibly due to increased estrogen levels. So they've advised me to have structural imaging (Therma is functional), to rule out anything sinister going on. Then back for a follow up in 6 months. Fingers crossed it will be clear and I can just change my diet to lower estrogen levels.

I've just read through all the comments on this thread and I'm sooooo happy to read that you're all out the other side of this scary journey! What a relief for you all.
I hope that you are all moving forward positively and loving life to the full. God bless you all. Xxx

  • Hi Linze

How did you get on after your mammogram? I had my first one post treatment, last Friday. My ultrasound was fine, but the mammo shows calcifications at the surgery site. My mind has of course chosen go down the rabbit hole of fear that it's yet more DCIS. Ugh. Having a biopsy on Wednesday. I'm hoping it's just because of surgery and radiation that it's there. Fingers and toes firmly crossed. I horrible, this waiting game and it has taken my mind back to diagnosis time. Must practice my meditation.   Anoway, hope you and everyone else is doing OK. Xxx
