Indeterminate breast calcifications

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?  I went into breast clinic with another lump (I've had numerous fluid filled cysts over the last four years).  That was all fine but they flagged up calcifications on the other side.  I was really shocked.  I've got a biopsy next week and I'm in that horrible inbetween place of not knowing and worrying.  Is this likely to be DCIS?  Thanks x

  • Hi All!

I hope everyone managed to get at least a little bit of respite from the fear and anxiety this weekend.

Vicki - how was the beach hut? Hope that fresh air did the trick for you.

    Take care of yourselves xx

  • I took the kids to the cinema on Saturday, and then had my sons 4th birthday party on Sunday. So I've managed to keep quite well distracted!!

The breast clinic just called, and they've moved my results appointment to 9:40 on Thursday, instead of 11:40. So at least I don't have to worry all morning. It will be school run, then appointment!! Praying for benign results!! Xxx

  • Hi

Wishing you all the best for your surgery - I'm sure you will mentally feel so much better once it's done and then you will be on the road to recovery.

  • Hi

You sound like you've been though it. Hoping you get clear margins on Thursday and your diagnosis remains the same. Let us know how you get on.

  • Hi

My next surgery is just after yours on 30th. Hoping for the very best outcome for you and everyone else on this journey. I'm trying to keep as busy as possible - just wish I could turn my brain off!

Like you, I wish it was happening this week but at least it's this month.

  • Thankyou.  Wishing you all the best for surgery on the 30th.  We are all in good hands no doubt.  Anyone getting results this week, all the best too.

You're so right about keeping busy.  Im just grateful im moving house and will be busy packing so it's keeping my mind off things.  It really does help.

    Take care x

  • Hello lovely lady. Just wanted to wish you all the very best for your surgery tomorrow. I hope I got the date right?

    How are you feeling? Xxx

  • Thank you so much!!

Yes tomorrow is the day! Eeek. Not really sure how I'm feeling to be honest.....scared, sad, relieved it will soon be done, the occasional dread and fear that I won't wake up (I blame my step-mother for banging on about how it's a long time to be under and she can't believe I'll be OK to come home the same day, last time she had a general they needed the crash team twice....really not what I needed to hear!) ...a whole mix going on haha!!

Hope you're doing OK....have you had your second chemo yet? Sorry....i lose track!!

Thank you for thinking of me! Take care hun xx

  • Oh bless you. I shall be feeling the exact same way before I go under. The last time I had a general was in 2009 I think, for a laparoscopy. I remember my heart banging in my chest just before I went under as was petrified I'd not wake up. Our minds do awful things to us!!

Am positive you will be fine and you will be so relieved to have come through it.

Had second chemo yesterday and I am surprisingly OK today. Had 6 intense hours of bed ridden nausea headache and back ache and then really wobbly on my feet this morning but way better this time than last time. They halved my steroid dose which helped enormously.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

    Big hugs

    Vicki xx

  • I know right.....seriously my mind has been my worst enemy since all this began!! I've had about 6 generals over the years (was an accident prone child) and wasn't even worrying about it until a few days ago!!

Really good to hear that round two was so much better for you (despite the six hours) and that changing the steroid dose seems to have done the trick!

    Hugs all round xx

  • I WOKE UP!!

Haha! Alll done and as far as I know it went well! A little groggy and sore but so far so good.

Thank you for your hugs and best wishes. I really appreciate the support here.

    Lots of love xx
