Urgent referral for suspected Cancer.

Hi all,

I never thought I'd have to be writing in a forum on here, but here Iam.

For around 5/6 months I've had a growth in my mouth (attached to my cheek), it appears like a skin tag, around the size of a pea. The dr checked my neck over and immediately said I need a referral.
Following the doctors appointment last Friday, I've been referred to my hospital under a urgent referral for suspected head and neck cancer.
I'm totally in the dark with this, I've not experienced this and never thought I would if I'm honest.

My question is, what am I going to be faced with regarding appointment when I receive that?

Thank you for any guidance and advice x

  • Welcome to the forum Kates21 although I'm sorry that an urgent referral has been made to the hospital for suspected head and neck cancer.

Hopefully some of our members who have been through this process will share their experiences with you soon but if you'd like to find out more about your appointment then you're welcome to give our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We're all thinking of you Kate and will have our fingers crossed for good news.

    All the best,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
