I am new to this too and am waiting on a date for my appointment. The waiting and anxiety at this time is unbelievable so I just wanted to say hi and let you know there are lots of us in the same boat unfortunately. 
 

I try to keep reminding myself that about 8/10 lumps maybe even slightly higher are benign so there's a good chance it's something else, maybe hormonal or cyst etc.

I don't think it is hormonal as I am past that stage. You have to referred within the two week rule as well. When the letter came then I panicked. It is quite a strange one with me being flat chested. About two inches across and sticks out about just under half an inch. It is just on top of my nipple. It feels like it is dragging down. I do wish you so much luck and thank you for replying.  I had a couple of scrapes last year which were negative with other things but this time I don't feel as lucky. I am really frightened especially as no one can go in with you due to covid. Thank you 

Well I wish you the best of luck even though I can't offer much medical insight. I'm sure there are still multiple possibilities even without it being hormonal.
 

I know I should be seen in 2 weeks but I was warned possibly 4 given the current delays.

Yes I would definitely ring up. I will let you know if I am in a fit state. I think it is worse not having anyone with you which happened last year a few times with me. It can be very lonely and frightening but I got through it with mindfulness. Please let me know when your appointment is.
