Uterine Cancers

Hi

Recently finished radiation for early stage Lobular BC. Taking tamoxifen for nearly 3 month. Had a gynaecologist consult as part of tamoxifen treatment. She done a vaginal ultrasound and said my uterine wall is double what it should be at 24mm. Scheduled now for D&C and camera etc. 41 no children.

Surely Tamoxifen couldn't cause an issue so quickly? What are the main reasons for thick uterine wall anyone know?

she wanted me in straight away over Christmas but I still had radiation sessions up until last week so now it's next week.

I have no spotting or anything like that. I was only there because I was referred to keep an eye because of tamoxifen

any thoughts?!

thanks!

  • Hi jaybemaybe,

I can understand this must be unsettling - it sounds like they are being thorough and it's good to hear you don't have too long to wait for the appointment. I can understand this new uncertainty must be difficult however.

Unfortunately I'm unable to advise on your question regarding Tamoxifen, but if you feel you'd like to talk things through with someone ahead of your appointment then you are more than welcome to give our nurses a call. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 (Monday-Friday, 9-5).

Meanwhile I hope that the appointment comes around soon and that it goes OK.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Thanks so much,

Had my procedure and she removed what she thinks is a polyp. It will go to the lab to find out exactly what it is. Another 2 weeks to wait for that result. At least it was found I suppose as I have no symptoms. Fingers crossed all is benign.
