Large mass on back/neck

Hello,

Ive got a large growth on my upper spine/neck, it's approx 5 inches by 4inches in a dome shape which appeared suddenly on new years day.  I went to urgent care who admitted me to EAU and ran blood tests, was told no infection, had an ultrasound which showed no fluid or infection etc.

Now I'm stuck in limbo not knowing what it is, at 1st they suggested lipoma but because it suddenly appeared overnight they said it can't be.

This is a large large lump and I'm concerned it could be something more serious, would a blood test In a and e show up anything more sinister like cancer?? Should I be getting more tests done on the lump, a biopsy etc to gain a proper diagnosis?

Thanks in advance

  • Hello  MrsW88

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had a lump develop. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about what this may be although it's some small reassurance that the hospital didn't have any immediate concerns when you were admitted.

It would seem sensible to get in touch with your GP and let them know about the sudden appearance of this lump and what has happened to date. It may be that they want to see you or that they want to arrange further tests/referrals but hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance about the situation.

I hope you have some answers soon.

    Best wishes,

  • I have contacted my own GP and awaiting a reply

    The lump is getting bigger

I know I should try not to worry but it's the fact nothing is getting done no tests or checks
