Postmenopausal bleed

Hello everyone,so i had my last period 2 years ago started hrt just over 3 months ago. On Christmas day i started bleeding heavily and still am now. Spoke to a doctor Wednesday she advised to stop the hrt straight away which i did and if still bleeding by Monday to call back and she will probably prescribe txa. She has also put me on the 2 week referral. My question is has anyone else experienced heavy bleeding to find out it was just the hrt causing it?

    I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some post-menopausal bleeding at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling concerned and you did exactly the right thing in contacting your Gp to get this checked. 

    HRT can cause vaginal bleeding but it's good to hear that your GP has referred you to have further investigations. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long and the Consultant will be able to give you some reassurance about things. 

    In the meantime if you'd like to chat with one o four nurses you're most welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any information, support, and advice that they can ahead of your appointment.
