Mole Removal - how long will I have to wait for results?

Following on from mole removal I wondered how long people are waiting  for results? I also wondered if the results appear in your GP records on the NHS app or GP app? My removal was delayed due to covid illness and was finally removed on 20th December

  • Hello Summcld

Results do normally seem to take a few weeks to come back and with the current Cvovid situation and the festive break, it may be that you end up waiting a little longer.

We know that waiting for results can be a difficult time for many people. You could consider giving the Consultant's secretary a call next week and asking if they're able to give you any idea about when you may hear some news. Hopefully, you won't be waiting too long.

Let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Just incase anyone checks back and wonders how long results may take - I received a telephone appt with my dermatologist with my results which was 8 weeks after the excision. All good, dysplastic so good to have removed but not melanoma. The results did not appear on the NHS/GP app until after we had discussed them

  • Hey Summcld,

I just saw your post and wanted to congratulate you on your good news. I'm so glad the mole wasn't sinister.

I'm sure our members will be just as pleased about your outcome and will appreciate you coming back to give an update on your situation and providing a valuable insight in to the results process.

    Kind regards,
