Mass found left breast. Waiting for breast clinic referral

New here so not sure what to expect! I was took into hospital with covid few days ago! Suspected blood clots! During the CT they came across a 30mm mass in my left breast! I was so shocked I never asked any questions just said ok and left as they were finally discharging me! I have had flickering pains in my breast and my armpit has been so itchy ? but there are no lumps! I'm waiting for my letter referal to the breast clinic ! I'm so scared of what to expect at the appointment! I obviously hope it's not what I'm thinking it is! I just can't sleep for worrying

  • Thank you so so much I shall definitely try to take my mom did it today and tomorrow for sure ! I'm not too worried about what they find because I can't change anything depending on what it is! It's just this biopsy it's literally making me feel so ill! But thank you so much for your reassurance means so much!

  • You're welcome and I totally get it, it is such an anxious time.

Is someone going with you tomorrow?

    Love Lilyanne xx, ♥️

  • I don't think I can take anyone because of covid I wish I could xxx

  • I know what you mean but my husband takes me when I go to Breast Clinic and sometimes they let him in with me to see the doctor. Other times he has to wait outside. It'll help If you have someone available who doesn't mind if they have to hang around a bit and they may get to go in when they give you any results. It's best if you both wear masks.

    Lilyanne xx♥️

  • They said I could be there 3 hours + so I've no idea what to do wouldn't want anyone hanging around too long it does get boring! Oh I presumed I wouldn't get any results same day xxx

  • Hi Zoe,

It is a long time to wait and things do differ in different hospitals so it's difficult to know. Sometimes they tell you if the mammogram/scan shows anything. If you have other tests, they take longer.

Maybe it might be worth it if someone could go along with you to see how it is at your Breast Clinic  If they can't stay they could go home or come to collect you later

    Lilyanne xx♥️

  • Hi Zoe,

Please don't worry about the biopsy. I had 3 biopsies taken of my left breast and 1 biopsy of my lymph node. It wasn't painful at all as a local anesthetic was used first. My bruises made it look worse than it was

The Dr doing the biopsies didn't tell me they looked suspicious but I could see the screen and I could tell but the shape of them they were cancerous. It was also mildly fascinating watching the needle get the sample.

I got the news 2 weeks later that I have grade 3 invasive ductal cancer in 2 of my 3 lumps and the lymph node. An MRI also revealed that the lumps are connected by more cancerous tissue so all in all 10cm!

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as I'm having my mastectomy and axillary clearance.

As you say it is what it is. You are a mum to 4. You are badass and you've got this

    Lou xx

    Ps I'm a mum to 4 too!

  • Hi lovely thank you so much for your reply? I've heard so much about the biopsy and it's making me so scared I can't stop crying and it's making my asthma so bad! Oh can you tell Tywyn are cancerous but looking then? What do they look like?  I'm awfully sorry to hear of your news, how inspirational you are sharing some of your experience! I hope your not feeling too unwell, I wish you all the luck tomorrow bless your heart!

xxx all my love and best wishes zoe xxxx

It was this page, you have to scroll down to the table which shows the different types. Please don't torture yourself with it though. I think for me because I was given no indication by the Dr who did the ultrasound and biopsies that they were suspicious I just wanted clarification in my own head.

To be perfectly honest, the moment my husband found the initial lump I knew deep down that it was going to cancer.

Talk to them tomorrow and explain that you are feeling anxious and nervous about the biopsy.

    I'll check in tomorrow xx

  • Thank you so much! Well I haven't got long to wait now to get it over with! My appointment is 8pm this evening so not long at all! Thank you so much for your support ! And good luck too for today xxxx
