Feeling so anxious about mole biopsy results

Hello - I am getting a bit sick with worry about a mole I had removed on 17 Dec.

I know it has been Christmas - so there may be delays.

My mole on my scalp was diagnosed as a blue Nevus in July, but since then it grew in size and three small satellite moles appeared around it.

I've looked on Google and often satellite moles mean cancer has spread through the lymphatic system?

I don't feel unwell and I'm a healthy 29 year old woman.

im so worried I'm dying and can do nothing about it :(

  • Hello Slee141

I'm sorry to hear that you're waiting on biopsy results at the moment. We know that this can be a very difficult period of time for many people and it's natural to feel anxious about what the results may be.

Unfortunately, many people turn to Google for information and this can leave them feeling much more worried. A lot of the information available online is out of date, inaccurate, or aimed at worst-case scenarios. Please do avoid looking online for information and instead I'd suggest giving our team of nurses a call. They will be happy to give you any advice, information, and support that they can.  Hopefully, this will help you feel less worried whilst waiting for your results. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn

i haven't had my results but I was called today for an MRI scan of my head. I assume that means I have melanoma.

I am so so upset that I haven't been told anything.

does a requirement for an MRI mean the cancer is likely to have spread?
