Worried about getting cancer

( 17 , usually healthy I think ) So around this time last year I went for scans on a lymph nose in my neck which I had been worried about and they said it seemed fine and could stay swollen due to my acne on my face  ? And since then I've had a few other concerns one being wheezing when I breathe out heavily this came on quite sudden and hadn't eased off since around 2/3 months ago maybe even longer , I recently contracted covid which hasn't helped as I've become quite breathless but I noticed my lips began to swell around day 4 of having covid and there are these patches inside the lining of my lips which look like a little rash almost and they are a little sore , my lips have swollen for no reason in the past and it almost comes and goes I'm just a little worried and I'm not sure wether to ask 111 for advice or try and see a doctor as I've also been experiencing chest pain which comes and goes every so often I tend to Google most of my symptoms and they all lead to cancer one way or another  . Is there any advice someone can give me please ?

  • Hello Bobbi21

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had Covid and that you've had some bouts of breathlessness and swelling in your lips. It's understandable that you're feeling worried about this and if things haven't improved since you posted then it's certainly worth speaking to your GP about your concerns.

I can see that you recently posted in our Ask the Nurses topic area and hopefully their response about your other concerns has given you some reassurance. We'd recommend not using Google to look for answers about your health as unfortunately much of the information is inaccurate, out of date, or aimed at the spectacular. As you've already found, nearly any symptoms you search for can lead to a possible cancer diagnosis according to Dr. Google. If you have health concerns that the best person to speak to is your GP as they will be able to support you.

I do hope that you're feeling better soon.

    Best wishes,
