Small lump near bottom

This is very embarrassing to post, and I know it shouldn't be but I'm not entirely sure where else to ask for help. I (16F) have had a small lump underneath the skin between my anus and vulva for several weeks now. Before that was a bartholin cyst which went away on its own. it's not painful, just worrying, and I don't want to go to the doctor and be told there's nothing wrong with me, it's not worth the embarrassment. Can anyone offer any help or similar experiences?

Thank you, I'll take any advice

  • Welcome to the forum Rubydark although I'm sorry for the worry this lump is causing.

As the lump has been there for a few weeks, it would be best to book an appointment with your GP or nurse as they are the only ones who can tell you whether this is any cause for concern.

I know the location of the lump is in a sensitive area but doctors and nurses are used to seeing all parts of the body and will do all they can to put you at ease. If it would help you feel more comfortable you could ask to be seen by a female doctor or nurse.

I hope the lump isn't anything serious and that some of our members offer their support and advice to you soon.

    All the best,
