Hi all
Im currently waiting for my appointment to come through for a gynaecology appointment. I had a transvaginal scan around 4 weeks ago and had a follow up phone call a couple of days ago. The doctor told me the scan had only picked up a few small ovarian cysts but they were nothing to worry about and are very common. As I'm still getting pain in my pelvis and lower back, and because I've had a couple of episodes of bleeding after intercourse he asked me to go in for an examination.
I went in yesterday and he told me I have some irritation on my cervix and he could see white discharge. He then asked me if there was any history of ovarian or womb cancer in my family. Is this a standard question as it has really worried me? He has put me on a course of antibiotics for 2 weeks and has said he wants to cover all bases so is sending me for an urgent gynaecology appointment.
Has anyone else been through similar? I'm so pleased he was so thorough as I've felt like I've been getting nowhere with this for months now but I'm so worried and questioning why the urgent referral. Ive got to the point where I look at my young son and so much worry floods me for the fact that he may not have his mummy in the years to come.
I'm really hoping others have positive outcomes in similar situation to mine.
xx
