Endometrial cancer

So it's back to the drawing board for me. In 2020 got diagnosed with cancer of the womb. Had everything taken away and then internal radiotherapy. Was doing well until May this year when I started bleeding using the dialator. To cut a long story was told I had a sore on vaginal wall and nothing to worry about and that it would heal eventually. Fast forward to Friday 17th Dec and my ontology checkup where was asked how long I had a lump under my pee pipe. To say I was shocked is an understatement. Bearing in mind I also had not healed up yet either. I was told that was where the bleeding is coming from and they are not sure if it was originally missed as no one knows least of all me.

Have now got to have an Mri scan and follow up. Today have spent the morning trying to rearrange ontclogy appt as it has come before my mri scan which I need first. Have left messages all over the place and hopefully they will get back to me asap. To say I feel frustrated and angry is an understatement.

Thanks for listening. Take care everyone.

  • Hello Ellieanne

I'm so sorry to hear about the problems that you've been dealing with since your surgery and that now you're facing more investigations. It sounds like it's been a real rollercoaster and it's understandable that you're feeling frustrated and angry.

I hope that someone has been able to get back to you and rearrange your appointments for the correct order. Hopefully you don't have to wait too long for the MRI and this will give some definitive answers, and reassurance, about what's going on for you.

Our nurse helpline is now closed for Christmas, but they will be back in the office on Wednesday 29th December and are available 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040 if you'd like to chat with them. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice and support they can.

    Keep in touch Ellieanne.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you so much for your reply. Yes my oncology nurse has been in touch with me and has rearranged everything so I am feels a lot calmer. My mri scan is booked for 8th Jan so not too long to wait. Just keeping my fingers crossed it's nothing sinister. Hopefully my follow up will follow shortly after that.

Thank you again for replying as it seems the site has more breast cancer posts than anything else.

  • Oh, I am glad that the nurse has been able to sort things for you Ellieanne, and that you feel calmer about things now. I hope that you're able to put things to the back of your mind, if only for a few hours, and enjoy the festive period.

Please do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
