21 month old - lymph nodes on head.

Hiya,

I am looking for some advice, my little girl is 21months old. When she was 4 months old, I noticed she had 2 wee little pea sized ( maybe smaller than a frozen pea ) lumps on the back of her head, I took her to the doctors and they didn't blink an eye lid.

at 8 months old I noticed they was still there, so I took my daughter to the doctors. She referred my little girl to paediatrics and she was seen by the lead consultant paediatrician who deals with malignancies.

the consultant felt my little girls lumps and said they're lymph nodes, as my daughter doesn't bruise easily, sleeps well, eats well.. no night sweats etc- she put it down to simple reactive nodes due to severe cradle cap. She informed me that she does a blood test on children for her own peace of mind, but she was so certain about my daughters being benign she said it's unfair to put her through a blood test for peace of mind of me, as she's that certain.

I felt comfort in this and that was it... I stopped feeling them and moved on.

1 year down the line, my daughter has a cold & ive noticed they're still there.. not any changes just there.

can some lymph nodes just be healthy and palpable??? It has now restarted my anxiety. She's so healthy and developing besides her sniffly cold.

any one have these nodes; that are just there!

  • I'm sorry that I can't be of much use but I didn't want to read and ignore. My son is 15 weeks and he's got one behind his left ear. I've told a few drs and I've shown a paediatrician when we were in hospital for unrelated issues, no one is concerned - said the same as to you really but I'll be honest it really worries me. It's constantly there and yes it's where the nodes are but why has it been inflamed since the day he was born? They are at least saying the same to us both so seemingly it is a thing, but it is worrying as a mum isn't it. Xx
