I can only speak from my own personal experience a good few years ago when I was experiencing chest / breast pain. I was also referred to an urgent breast clinic and, as one of my breasts was lumpier than the other when I was examined, I was given a mammogram at the clinic just to be safe and got my results within the hour (all was fine, it was just normal for me).

Good luck. I hope all goes well. As you said, most of the time these things turn out benign but it is always much safer to get checked out and the earlier, the better.

Good luck tomorrow. When I went I had a mammogram then a ultra sound scan and biopsy. Unfortunately mine turned out to be breast cancer. They will explain everything to you.
