Fatty liver - do I need to worry?

Hi 

I worried as I have been getting a bloated belly and it very uncomfortable and I was ask to do ultrasound scan in October 2020 and it came that I have fatty liver and still getting bad bloated belly now and then and my GP ask me to do another ultrasound scan and they told I have fatty liver. What should I know next. Am worried and confuse

    I'm sorry you've found out you have a fatty liver. The NHS have some information about non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and alcohol-related liver disease (ARLD) on their website but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses then you're welcome to get in touch with them on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to help.

    Do try and have a chat with your GP about this as well as they will ultimately be in the best position to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.
