I'd say you should probably go to the doctor, if only for peace of mind. Assuming it's completely unconnected to your previous experience, which is probably the case, it's as well to get reassurance as soon as possible. And in the off-chance that there is something wrong, the sooner it gets checked out, the better. I don't see any benefit to waiting either way.

Hope it turns out to be nothing and I reckon that is the most likely option.
