Hi everyone.
I've reached 77 years and seemingly suddenly I have been hit by several health issues, or perhaps more correctly some have surfaced recently.
The first odd event was that my bowel habits did a 180 degree turn when I went from having loose bowel movements several times a day, to often only once in 2 or 3 days. I mentioned this to my GP and his only comment was to prescribe a laxative. I had asked whether or not this was something about which I should be concerned, to which I received no comment.
Later, I began to notice pain in the general area between my ribs and pelvis (especially) when I drank cordial in sparkling water.
I'd had prostate problems for some while and this condition has grown more difficult to deal with in recent months as well.
When I went to see my GP about these two conditions I was surprised when he almost dismissed my concerns without comment. He did, however, check back in my notes and told me that I had a large cyst on my left kidney, found when I had a previous test.
I stayed clear of the doctors' surgery during the first and second bouts of Covid and then, when I did get an appointment, a different doc., took bloods and referred me for a flow test and CT scan.
Over the past year or so, the pain which was in my left hand side, lessened and started to hurt me in my right hand side.
I've now had the flow test and the CT scan. The pain in my left side has increased and often catches me by surprise, waking me from sleep and making itself felt when I am driving or working in the garden or workshop.
That's probably a very unhelpful string of symptoms, but perhaps someone may be able to cast some light on things?
