Hi,
I'm a 41 year old generally anxious person, I Just got back from breast clinic and wanted to give some of you searching for good outcomes with certain symptoms (I have been googling like mad trying to find good news stories during my 2 week referral but actually a 4 week wait due to covid).
It seemed I had every symptom going, 2 or 3 large lumps, nipple retraction, dimples, blood stained discharge and tenderness.
This morning I was examined, had a mammogram, then an ultrasound and back to see the lovely consultant.
The result was a big area of inflammation caused by severe duct ectasia and periductal mastitis. Nothing at all sinister. The consultant said she would operate to remove the inflamed duct system but at the moment too much of the breast was involved so I have been asked to use Ibruprofen gel and got another appointment in 3 months to see if it's settled enough for the op.
Sending massive hugs to everyone in this situation with different outcome.
xx
