Hi, I've been diagnosed with cervical cancer and have my CT scan on 9th and my MRI on 11th December. Anyone know how soon after results should I have my operation?
Welcome to the forum although I’m sorry to see your diagnosis. By operation I assume you mean a radical hysterectomy?
With cervical cancer, this operation is only possible with an early stage cancer so the mri and ct scan results would be required to assess the size of tumour, location and if there is any spread. Beyond stage 1, surgery is not normally possible and treatment would be chemoradiation, so it would be impossible to say at this stage whether surgery would even be an option. If it is an early stage cancer and surgery is possible, it would depend on the hospital you’re being treated at.
