Hi
I was looking for some advice. My Dad has had copd for several years. He was put on oxygen 2 years ago but continued to live a healthy, active life. Last weekend he got very poorly and I ended up bringing him to hospital. He was admitted and they did lots of tests. They think he had a silent heart attack and his lung disease has progressed. However, yesterday the doctor came and explained tgat the ct scan also showed an abnormality that they think is a tumor. They can't confirm it she said because Dad wouldn't be able to do the camera test. She told me they are 80% it is cancer but that Dad wouldn't be suitable fir radiotherapy or chemotherapy because of his health. So basically we have no certainty- we've been told Dad likely has cancer and if it is we just wait fir things to get worse as they can't treat. The tumor is at bottom of right lung and said sone spread to glands nearby but still just in one place. Has anyone else had experience of this? My dad is 78 and very independent. Is it worth getting a second opinion? Thanks for any information
