appointment to see plastic surgeon for WLE melanoma

Hi. So my appointment has come through for mid next month to see the plastic surgeon about my WLE. For some reason I feel nervous again now.  I want the op done ASAP but nervous at the same time if that makes sense. How soon after seeing the surgeon will my operation be? Will they set the date at this appointment? The consultant dermatologist told me I’d probably be having a local again as I’m stage 1A?!

    I think many of our members here will understand how a letter for an appointment can leave you feeling anxious and worried. It's natural to be concerned about what may happen and what the consequences could be. 

    Hopefully, at your appointment, the Consultant will be able to give you an idea about what your procedure will be and it won't be too long to wait. 

    We know that talking things through with someone at times like this can help and I wonder if you'd find it beneficial to have a chat with one o four nurses ahead of your appointment. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, support, and information that they can. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040. 

    I hope that all goes smoothly for you at your appointment next month and your recovery from the WLE.

    Thank you so much for replying and the support and advice. I think it's because I'm not in control of anything that makes me anxious. I'm a person who likes to know :happy:I relaxed once I knew my diagnosis and thankfully it was caught at an early stage.
