Hi, I was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia last year and I'm struggling to be honest. For a start ET seems a minor problem when I know people have more devastating illnesses. My main problem is that I'm worried about the side effects of the 500mg hydroxycarbamide I take in the long term. Also no one in my family and none of my friends know anything about this disease and seem to think it will go away. I don't think the pandemic is helping and I can't seem to see any future. Does anyone know anything about ET that might help me get a better grasp on how I can move forward? Apologies for being so negative.
