Hiya. I can't give advice on pagets but have got some knowledge advice about breast surgery.

ive been diagnosed with stage 2invasive ductal breast cancer-had biopsy and then lumpectomy and sentinal nodes removed. I did a bit of good old Google stalking to find an idea of What to expect. 
My surgery was day case and took just over an hour. Had a dressing on for a week and my 10cm scar has healed really well. My boob tissue is a little deformed and my boobs a hard and lumpy scar tissue as had a seroma and heamatoma after surgery - but I feel a small price to pay for being cancer free. Nothings noticeable with my bra on.  

The technique is used but every surgeon has a slight tweek to what they prefer. Speak to your surgeon and highlight concerns.

Hiya. Thanks for your reply.  I'm day 6 post surgery now. All trussed up like a turkey in a corset with a pico 7 attached to the breast dressing. I can see there's a definite size difference but I knew that was coming. Next Wednesday the dressing comes off, I'm not sure I'm ready to see the wound but I'll cross that bridge on the day. The pain in my arm yesterday was relentless so I took diclofenac which eased it overnight.  Xx

your on the slow road to recovery. 
I was told about differences in shape ans size.

i had large lumpectomy and was a little freaked out by the way my scar /Boob looked. My boobs lumpy and hard in places and my nipple is blue from the dye. 
But you will learn to love your body again. Lumps ,-scars and bumps are all part of the journey of life I think. We are all different that's what make you you. 

I have a large mirror in my bedroom and look into it and think is a "small" price to pay for being alive.

This is true but sadly I had to have my nipple removed so I've got to try to come to terms with that xx

Keep on top of your pain -regular pain relief and if it's not strong enough contact your surgery centre or GP.

I'm managing really well without too much pain relief.  The worst soreness is down the back of and under my armpit from the lymph node removal. Day 8 now, its gone so quickly!! I'm mostly positive but I have had a few moments where ive gone into meltdown, which is perfectly normal I guess given what's happened.  I don't feel I've had time to digest everything if I'm honest and I've just been going along with it all. However my prognosis is very good and I must remember that xxxx

getting upset it's only natural.

I have days when I'm really teary and other days I don't feel poorly at all till I catch a climpse of my chemo hairdo in the mirror.

Have you had or been offered any counselling ? Some people are not too bothered about telling others their problems.

Hi Effie 

I'm doing OK. Dressings all removed and I'm coming to terms with my new look breast. Just want the pain and soreness to go away now but I know it's early days. Don't get my results til 29th so still feel in limbo xx

Hiya, the waiting for results I found the most awful. 
Some days I was good. The next minute I'm sobbing.

It's ok to be upset and angry. It's part of the process.

Roll on 2022. :)
