    Hi Helendo,

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your breathing following your lobectomy. Have you got a precial nurse? If so, perhaps it would be worth a phone call to ask her if this is normal. Alternatively contact your GP and see what s/he suggests.

I hope that things improve for you soon. Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi, sorry to hear your feeling breathless.

Having part of the lung removed will give you less lung volume.  making your overall capacity smaller. Sometimes after a while the remaining lung expands into to space the lobectomy has created so capacity can get a little bigger.

Have you got a contact nurse after your surgery ??
Have you got a home oxygen saturation monitor -the red light on the finger nail machine?? Can you remover when your number was when you left hospital ?

If you are concerned about breathlessness then please go get checked out do it today Friday as usually less of the respiratory specialist team are around on a weekend

If you are struggling tho please phone 111.

  • Hi Effie, I have been in touch with support nurse, it seems that the breathing problems are normal and not to worry, got appointment with surgeon on 6 December, I have also been in touch with my doctor, gave me morphine for the breathing, had to stop as I was getting nausea vomiting, now on new inhaler, just some reassurance that it's all part of the procedure xx Helendo
