Endometrial hyperplasia / cancer and bariatric surgery

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has had bariatric surgery to treat endometrial hyperplasia/ grade 1 cancer and what their outcome was?

I've had a mirena coil and it doesn't appear to be affecting the cells so this is the next phase of treatment for me so was hoping to find someone with a similar experience?

  • Hello Shellbot.sp,

I hope that you will hear from others who have had bariatric surgery to treat endometrial hyperplasia and that they will be along shortly to tell you what their personal experience and their outcome was.

I keep everything crossed for you that this next phase of treatment works well for you. If there is anything you would like to talk about with our cancer nurses, don't hesitate to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello I'm on the mirena coil and on provera 100mg every 12 hours now for past 8 months 200mg every 12 hours(hormone therapy tablets) try ask your oncologist to give them to you. Losing weight is best thing, it was hard for me so my oncologist helped me get gastric sleeve surgery which did help.

I was diagnosed in March 2020

I was cancer free on my biopsy all clear no endmenitros and 3 months later cancer again

I was gonna have fertility treatment if I had two clear biopsys which I'm gutted about so close I was but still fighting for my uterus!

    Wishing you the best
