Diagnosis Glioblastoma brain tumour

Hi, I was told yesterday that I have a glioblastoma brain tumour and given the choice of an operation, Chemo and radiotherapy. Although they have told me, they won't be able to remove it all. Has anyone else had the same diagnosis or the operation. I'm totally in shock and it would be great to hear other people's experiences, good or bad.

thanks x

  • Hi Gill2128,

My daughter was diagnosed with gbm multiforme and had debulking, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. I was saddened to see you have had no replies to your post apart from moderator Ben.

if you want to ask any questions I will try to answer them, but it does all depend on the location of the tumour in the brain as to what symptoms you have, as far as I am to understand.

    I have no medical experience.

    Sending best wishes to you

  • Good morning. I have GBM4 (aka Brian) for nearly 3 years now. I have had my operation in July 2019 followed by chemo and radiotherapy. 2 years of stability then ensued until October last year when it returned. It is now inoperable as the tumour has disintegrated. I have blood transfusions as platelets are unsteady, four actually and apart from that am OK. My family were shocked initially but my wife and children have adapted to it. I have occasional days when I feel down but mostly up. I take each day as it comes. If I can help please let me know. Regards John
