Immunotherapy and Colon cancer

My mum has colon cancer and has a secondary tumour in her neck and cancer cells in her liver.   She had chemo (which was absolutely dreadful, she got every side effect going and ended up in ICU with neutropenic Sepsis).  She was only diagnosed in May but it seems she has had it for years.  its been a horrible shock and its scary how fast everything is moving.

Anyway the Chemo didn't work.  Her tumour is inoperable and growing - shes starting to get a dull ache in her side where she can feel it.

She's been offered and is starting immunotherapy tomorrow.  I just wondered if anyone had experience of immunotherapy with colon cancer and what was the outcomes, were there bad side effects etc.

Any advice massively appreciated thank you.

  • Hi Jodenice,

I'm sorry to hear of the situation with your mum. If there are others with similar experience to share, then hopefully they'll see this. Otherwise, I hope that the forum can provide some general support to you if you feel you need it at any point.

I hope that things go well with the start of the new treatment.

    WIshing you all the best,
