Gastro neuroendocrine tumor

Hi Everyone,

My husband is 38 and is recently being diagnosed with metastatic neuroendocrine tumor, primary in mesantry and metastatis in liver. He had episodes of flushing almost everyday as symptom. Doctors are planning to do trans arterial emobilization in the liver meanwhile they gave him lar octreotide injection to control flushing, which worked only for two days but doctors are suggesting to continue this injection for almost rest of his life.  Does anyone has experience with emobilization technique will that decrease flushing and how helpful it can be? Is there anyone on octreatide injection and does that work? They are also considering PEET radioactivity treatment for future. Please help, I am new to this forum .

  • Hi sants,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of the situation with your husband - I can understand things must be uncertain and that you have questions. I've had a quick search of the forum and it seems there aren't many relevant discussions on here relating to your queries. I can only say I hope that others with similar experience will see your post and reply. Do of course discuss your questions with the specialist too when you can, as they will be best placed to advise on these.

Otherwise, I hope this forum can offer some small help to you, and we're always here for support if you need it - even if it's simply a case of writing things down and reaching out to others.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
