Sorry - another question

Sorry to ask another question but having been told he would receive immunotherapy, my Dad has now been told that oesophageal varices were found on endoscopy and he won't now be able to have this treatment.

Levantinib (?) has been prescribed instead and was supposed to be delivered by courier today.

It hasn't turned up, can't get through to hospital and left messages haven't been returned yet. I contacted what I think is the courier company used by the NHS and they have no account for my Dad.

Does anyone know how these things work at all? My parents weren't given any information on whether they'd be contacted to confirm delivery or who to call in case of queries; I'm a bit stumped as to how to find out what's happening,

Thanks in advance.

(I know ive not got the name of the drug right - my brain won't work due to stress overload!)

  • Hello Debs1010,

I am so sorry to hear you didn't receive the lenvatanib. I hope that by now you will have heard back from hospital and found out what happened. Perhaps you could try ringing your dad's GP surgery and explain the situation, that you are not managing to get through to hospital? They might be able to contact them on your behalf and get through to someone more easily. They might have information too on who to get in touch with regarding this delivery.

It's a shame your parents were not given any further information and I hope that you get through to someone and receive the lenvatanib very soon.

    Best wishes,

  • Thanks Lucie. We still haven't got it. We spent all day yesterday trying to contact someone who might be able to help. No one returned our calls. I'm sorry to say that at the moment I'm feeling so angry; at what's an awful awful time, this is making everything so much more stressful

  • I'm so sorry to hear your dad still hasn't received his medication yet Debs. It must be very stressful.

I really do hope the delivery arrives soon but if you're still not having any luck getting through to anyone, maybe you could give the NHS a call on 111 to get their advice.

    Kind regards,
