About to start treatment

Hello

have been diagnosed with her2 positive breast cancer. Tumour about 2.5 cm and has spread to a couple of the lymph nodes. Treatment plan begins with 4 cycles of FEC then 4 cycles of PHESGO and wondering if anyone had had experience of this?

    Hi Gin,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Although I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, I haven't had the same treatment, so cannot help with your question. There are plenty of people on the forum who have had experience of this, so here's hoping that some of them will be along soon.

This is treatable which is good. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx.

  • Hi Gin,

I was diagnosed with her2+ breast cancer at the end of April. Grade 3 with a tumour 3+cm.

I have had 6 rounds of chemo (3 FEC then 3 docetaxel with herceptin and perjeta)

I had a lumpectomy on Wednesday with removal of sentinel lymph nodes.

If you want to ask anything I can try and help.

    When do you start chemo?

  • In about ten days with the sameness treatment as you had and am very frightened by the prospect. Any advice, wise words or comfort you can offer would be gratefully received x

  • Hi Gin,

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, it's a shock yes but you do not need to be afraid. The NHS will look after you and everything will be sorted quickly.

I was diagnosed in April this year with BC and although her 2 negative , I ve just finished my 6 rounds of fec t chemo as had that first. It really is nt as bad as you think , I know everyone is different but with a positive mind set , it can be done. I kept my hair due to the cold cap and would recommend this to everyone as it made me feel much more positive about myself. The side effects were minimal, nauseous and tiredness , but still managed to eat and exercise almost normally. Awaiting surgery now which will be a mastectomy and reconstruction, I m in a better place than most and think how lucky I am, that it's been caught and treated !!! Please keep positive , your body can cope with this and you will get through it I promise !!

    Take care xx

  • Thank you Debbie

You have really helped and I'm going to keep reading this and focus on a positive mindset! Xxx

  • You ve got this !!!!! Always here if you need a chat or ask a question x
