Private lump removal

So , my 1st chemo is arranged for Friday October 1st , clips in breast tomorrow plus now they want to take a lymph node biopsy ( as it showed slightly enlarged x 1 on the mri ! ) so , the Nhs have recommended 6 chemos, one every three weeks with injections stating on the third chemo x 18 altogether , then lumpectomy the 5 x radiotherapies but , I was prepared for all that ( although I'm not a believer in all the drugs going into the body but it's in my best interests so I understand that but now I'm thinking if biopsy of lymph node is ok as I do have a bit of a viral cold so I hope that's all it is as I did squash my left breast in the door in two places which corresponds where these lumps have arisen from so has anyone come down this road please?  and not had the treatment just cancerous lumps removed ?and still ok with NO OTHER TREATMENT ?

  • Hiya.

It's a lot of information when you attend these appointments to take in isn't it.

Have you been given any grading? Biopsy results ? Her positive /negative. Oestrogen positive /negative?? Sizes etc etc.

The oncology team discuss each case in an MDT meeting and work out best prognosis /outcome depending on what type of cancer if is.

Chemo is used to shrink mass to a smaller size before opting for removal? Treatments plans rediaotherapy chemo and meds are given to stop risk of cancer coming back increasing lifespan.

Have you got a breast care nurse? I think maybe phone them for a catch up explain your thoughts and feelings. Maybe get a second opinion if your still unsure.

I'm 42years old- found a lump in my boob and ive got grade two invasive Ductal breast cancer and if do anything surgery chemo radiotherapy or take any medication to live a longer healthy life and not have my cancer return.
    Best of Luck

please speak to your breast nurse /GP
