    Hi Machrie,

This is always a shock and you will feel a plethora of emotions until things begin to settle down. Do you know what type of breast cancer you have and, are you going to have a lumpectomy or a full mastectomy? I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years and had a double mastectomy second time around. I have never looked back and still live a busy and fulfilled life.

Please keep in touch and, remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine.

    Machrie..

    Hi Machrie,

Removing a lymph node/nodes is normal during surgery to ensure that it hasn't spread. Do you have a date for surgery yet and, has there been any mention of possible treatment post-surgery? If it's of any consolation, I found my mastectomies easier to cope with than my lumpectomy.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi ladies

I also received my biopsy results yesterday .. grade 3 invasive ductal cancer, triple negative - that's all they can tell me at the moment. I feel so numb and struggling to process it. I'm 26 and have a two year old ... who gets breast cancer at 26?! I know it's normal to think the worst but I am petrified it's spread. I have had no symptoms what so ever and feel totally healthy in myself so what's to say it's spread and I'm none the wiser?!

When I was 7 weeks pregnant I had a painful swollen lump appear in my armpit which was initially thought to be a blocked milk duct. They found a 6cm lymph node. Fast forward a few weeks, I have miscarried and been diagnosed with cancer. My world bas been turned upside down. I am due to start chemo in 4 weeks as they want to do that before surgery, and I am a total mess. I want to hold it together for my daughter but I am just so overwhelmed. I can't bare to think of her potentially growing up without a mum - my mum is my best friend.

  • Hi.what your feeling will be so overwhelming..and natural...keep focused on one day at a time...we always imagine the worst..

Best wishes to you..remember...your in good hands..

  • Hi Marie95

I just wanted to post a reply to say I'm sorry to hear that you had this news from your biopsy results yesterday. It's obviously a very difficult time for you right now and I wanted to try and get you connected up with some other members and signpost you to some information and support.

We've a couple of threads here and here from women who have been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). You may want to have a read through some of the responses and post your own reply to introduce yourself. I know that [@Reepsie][@DPC1432]‍ and [@Sarahsunshine]‍ have all recently posted about TNBC and hopefully as I've tagged them into my reply here you'll hear from them before too long.

If you're on Facebook then there is also a fabulous private support group called the Younger Breast Cancer Network (UK) which is specifically for women under the age of 45. I know that you will be able to connect with other women there of a similar age who have/had the same diagnosis. You can read a little more about the group on the Breast Cancer Now website.

We do have some information on our website about TNBC that you may find helpful and I wanted to let you know that you're welcome to call our team of nurses to chat things through with them if you would like. I'm sure that they will be happy to offer any information, advice, and support that they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I won't overwhelm you with any more links or information for now. Just know that we're here to support you if we can.

Do keep in touch Marie and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Marie95

I just read your post and I am so sorry to hear you have cancer. You must be feeling so scared.

I am waiting for my biopsy results at the moment and it is such a horrible feeling.

I have young children too - a 4 year old daughter and 10 month old son. I can just about hold it together until I think about dying and leaving the children and it is killiing me. I wake up in the night barely able to breathe sometimes.

Sending you loads of love x
