waiting for bowel cancer operation

my partner  was diagnosed with first stage of bowel cancer. I could not believe how they rushed all these test through, he had MRI and CT scans also had colonoscopy you name it he had it.  He had his pre-op assessment five weeks ago and has heard nothing since. We have phoned them and its gone through to their answering machine which he has left a message and they have not got back to him. i phoned today and got through only to find the oncologists secetary is away until next week. I feel something is not right and I need to get this operation done as soon as or it may spread. I have sent a message to his GP to see if he can find out anything. Why rush all this through so quickly. they also said that he will not need to have chemo as they have caught it in time. I need help with this

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community maisiepenny although I'm sorry your partner has been diagnosed with bowel cancer.

It must be very frustrating to be in this state of limbo at the moment but hopefully your GP is able to chase this up for you and things will start to get underway soon.

Hopefully some of our members who have been on this journey will offer their advice and support to you soon but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can get in touch with them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m

    Kind regards,
