Appendiceal Cancer

Hi my wife had appendix removed and we got a follow up appointment where she was told it had a tumour on it.It was 6.7cm long on an appendix which is approximately 10cm long.We were told it was a Goblet Cell Carcinoma  Grade 2.So she had a right hemy and they removed some other part of colon which was suspicious. So on follow up we were told the op was a success but 1 lymph node had cancer cells.T4 .So she is to have 4 rounds of Capox Chemo. It is being treated as Colon Cancer as there is not much knoledge of Appendiceal Cancer.Does anyone have any similar experience?

  • Hello JJAC

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis and all that she's been through in recent weeks. It's understandably a difficult time for you both.

This thread is currently active with people who have recently posted about cancer of the appendix. If you post a message on that thread hopefully others will reply to share their experiences with you. we have some information about CAPOX on our website but I'd also suggest giving our team of nurses a call to chat things through with them. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any information, advice, and support that they can. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope this helps you to connect with others who have similar experiences.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello JJAC,

So sorry to hear about your wife.  My partner had a similar diagnosis and was referred to a specialist centre that deals with GCC and I've just joined the forum and added my first post.

Has your Wife's case been reviewed by one of the specialist centres?

Good luck and please wish your wife well!
