I have been diagnosed this week after finding a lump. Im really scared that this is the end for me as I've read it's one of the worst breast cancers to have. Anyone had this type and can reassure me?
Thank you so much for the cold cap info. I too have thick hair so if I shed some, hopefully it won't look too bad afterwards. Did your hair start thinning straight away, and did you have headaches? I hope I'm not too nauseous, I absolutely hate that feeling, and would rather actually bring it up that have the constant awful feeling.
I will definitely look into the toppik powder and the port aswell. Anything to make life easier and less stressful is key for me right now!
I've only noticed more shedding this week, after my 6th treatment but no one else would probably notice. You're advised to only wash once a week at the most and I purchased the paxman products and take the conditioner with me.
i take paracetamol about half an hour before the cool down starts and other than the first 10/15 mins where it gets cold I tolerate it and don't seem to get headaches. But it's not for everyone. You can always give it a go and if you don't like it just stop using it. Your sessions will be shorter which is a bonus. I also ice my hands and feet and I take a hot water bottle and a blanket but to be honest I find icing my hands harder!
with the nausea the meds really help so I've learnt to take them, especially the extra ones they give me, but everyone is different. Hopefully that's not something that will affect you. I would just say rest and fluids is key to flushing the drugs out of your system within the first few days.
