Breast cancer

Hi. I have been told by the ultrasound tech that I have breast cancer. Four lumps and lymph nodes were biopsied and I have to wait 2 weeks for the stage. The consultant said I would need a mastectomy and chemo.  I don't know what to expect at the results appt any advise would be greatly appreciated as I feel in limbo.  Kerry xx

    Hi There. 
    When I had mine. Consultant who went on to be my surgeon told me what type of cancer I had. Size 3cm.  Grade2 (Re graded 3 after surgery)  Hormone positive. HER negative. He showed me the scan pictures of where it was in my boob. He went through my treatment plan - Surgery options. I was given choice of lumpectomy or mastectomy. Radiotherapy would be recommended. Chemo was on fence until further analysis after surgery.

    I then spent a bit more time with the breast care nurse who explained things a bit more and answered any questions I had xxx
