Waiting

Hi all... I'm new here... had my consultation on Thursday... mammogram and ultrasound along with 4 biopsy's taken from breast and arm pit (lumps in there too). Call later that afternoon to say 99% sure it's breast cancer.

so I'm deducting from that, that they have found cancer in my breast and lymph nodes. I was told I would have an appointment this coming week to discuss, I guess, treatment... however... I also tested positive for covid on Thursday so now won't be able to attend my face to face appointment... Thursday was not a good day.

I'm guessing I'm going to need CT and MRI to check it hasn't spread anywhere else but does anyone know how soon I might get an indication of grade of cancer and when I might start treatment. I don't feel like I can plan anything... have a 5 (nearly 6 yr old) and all I can think about is her birthday and Xmas and how I want to keep these things as normal as possible for her.

Anyone shed any light ?
Thanks in advance.

  • Hello LottieLou41,

At the moment, more tests would need to be done before anything is confirmed so your doctor is the best person to speak to about the next steps. It might help to write down any questions might have and go through them at your next appointment. Having your concerns heard could help you feel more prepared and hopefully you can plan family events in the future. Once you've spoken to your doctor this week, there is information on diagnosing breast cancer here if you wish to read.

I hope your next appointment goes ok.
