Lung cancer to brain tumours

Hi my mum has been suffering with headaches for around a month.  She repeatedly went to drs and a&e to be told, temporal arthritis, stress headache, get a massage etc, until she was throwing up so much she begged to be scanned.  They found 2/3 brain tumours then found mass on left upper lung. They have put her on steroids to reduce swelling so to help with headaches and nausea.  They have sent her home until 23.08.21 when she will have a biopsy taken from the lung.  I imagine it will be another week until we get the result.  She is a type 2 diabetic so the blood sugars are also being affected.  She is very tired and sleeping during the day.  Is this the steroids?  Or cancer progressing?

I'm  looking for some guidance on what we should be doing?  I live 5hrs away and would hate to think she could die without me being there.  What are peoples experiences in this situation?  We basically been told nothing at this point....not even what stage she is at.  I'm googling everything which points to stage 4a lung cancer....!even this is a bit of a guess as they haven't said which is the primary.mum has smoked for years so I'm guessing it will be the lung cancer.

any advice welcome!
