Hi Toni,

I'm sorry that the mole came back as malignant but hang on to the fact that they've caught it early. The further surgery (Wide Local Excision) and node test (Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy) will ensure that it's all been removed, just in case any little cell is floating around. Early stage patients (Stage 1 & 2) have a very good chance of having no further problems in the future. You will have a period of regular check ups & you will be shown how to check your moles and body for lumps where the nodes are.

I know how scary this is, especially when you are pregnant and should be enjoying this precious time, but please know it's not the end of the world. I know many people who were diagnosed early stage whilst pregnant or their children were babies & they are still here, fit & healthy, watching them graduate, get married and become parents themselves, so try not to think the worst.
