37 years old diagnosed with lung cancer

Hello. I've had problems for months with pain in legs, voice became very husky, just generally feeling run down. Finally started getting seen and went to an appointment today expecting nothing and I have lung cancer. They scanned my head looking for any brain tumours. We have another appointment with the consultant tomorrow. My son is only 3 and we were just about to buy a new house but hasn't gone through yet so I am cancelling that tomorrow. I can't believe i have cancer and really just want to talk to others who have

  • Hi Jessibo I'm so sorry to read of your diagnosis at such a young age. I found out today I have lung cancer and am having a lobectomy at the end of the month. I'm very worried on how I will cope as I  live alone.
having read the posts on post operative pain it's scared me witless.  I am  trying to stay positive and remembering that different people have different perceptions of pain.

I know it's cliched but we have to stay positive and optimistic we all are travelling down a difficult road a very dark and scary road, take all the help and support you can from family and friends.
I intend to have a massive party on Friday drink too much wine and dance to the music of my youth whilst I still can ( smiley face) stay strong jessibo

  • My 46 year old friend has just had a lobectomy and although tired, emotional and in discomfort - was discharged after a few days. This is her third brush with cancer and she too was terrified but she's doing ok. She was well enough to face time her mum the day after the op x
