AML Leukaemia - dad aged 75

My dad has just been diagnosed with AML. He is 75 years old and I am struggling with digesting. Has anyone got any stories to share or positive stats / prognosis advice?

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Alex although I'm sorry your dad has been diagnosed with AML.

I'm sure you're both contending with a lot of thoughts and feelings at the moment but I'm glad you've joined us as many of our members will understand what you're going through and will hopefully offer their support and advice to you soon.

In the meantime, I've had a quick look through the forum and wanted to put in touch with [@Paepi]‍ as their dad received this diagnosis back in January and [@Dolly8]‍'s mum has lived with AML for over 5 years so hopefully they'll be able to help.

We have some information about AML just here but if you feel it may help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses you're very welcome to give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
