Newly diagnosed and pregnant

Hi all, hope everyone's ok.

I had my biopsy results appointment around lunchtime and been told I have diffuse large cell b lymphoma.
it's been a lot to take in, I'm 32 years old and 24 weeks pregnant. Due to go in Thursday and Friday for chemotherapy. Has anyone been pregnant and had chemo?

  • Hi there ...

So so sorry your going through this and having a pregnancy at the same time ... there was one lass who was diagnosed a couple years ago ... she fell pregnant and went on to have a beautiful boy ... and another one a few months ago ... so it is doable ... and they will take good care of you ...

Though life's being really crule to you ... got everything crossed ... she's not been on for a while .. but if I see her name come up... I'll ask her to reply to you ... sending you a vertual hug... Chrissie x

  • Hi Sophie hope your doing OK,

Just found your post after doing so much searching myself! I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in late April this year I was about 16 weeks at the time. I'm 22 weeks at the moment and have had my 2nd cycle of chemo. It's tough but for me it's only until baby can be delivered hopefully. The hardest part I find is mentally, I panic over every single side effect or twitch at this stage and its hard to know what's pregnancy related or chemo related also I'm in Ireland and have found it so so hard to find anyone in the same situation or similar, the doctors and nurses just keep saying that they don't really see a lot of pregnant women for chemo.

  • Thank you, feels a bit of a long road at the moment but I'm trying to stay positive. X

  • Hi Lauren

im sorry to hear what you're going through and hope you're ok as can be. I start chemotherapy later today abd rather nervous and imagine I'll be panicking once I've finished my first round. How often have you got to have treatment?
have you looked at the mummy's star charity? I stumbled upon on when scouring google. It's for ladies who are pregnant and have cancer..I've asked to join but need to get my hospital diagnosis letter to show them for safeguarding reasons for use of their forum and other support.

I can't barely find anything on google, if any in fact on cancer and pregnancy! It's rather uncommon. When I got my diagnosis they said it's 1 in 6000 ( I think) for the type I've got. It's just typical before all this I'd never had anything majorly wrong with me.

if you wanted to message privately please do. It's a tough time. X
