Swollen lymph nodes

I've recently been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.

My initial mammogram and ultrasound showed no signs of spread and they are happy as the tumour is small about 1.5cm

I had an MRI last week and findings are good, just the same size tumour and nothing else in either breast. Although the left side where the tumour is the nodes in my armpit are swollen.
They have told me this doesn't appear suspicious but they want to carry out an ultrasound to be sure! Obviously I'm freaked out as convinced this whole time it's not spread.

My consultant adviced this can be a result of the core biopsy I had done that can cause the nodes to swell. Just curious if anyone else had this? Really hoping it's nothing sincister

Your situation sounds exactly the same as mine! I was diagnosed last Friday with breast cancer, and just got the letter today confirming it's triple negative. Now waiting for lymph nodes biopsy results as they're a little swollen apparently, so praying it hasn't spread. I'm just in shock and so terrified about it being triple negative and therefore harder to treat. I'm 31 too, and thought (naively) it wouldn't happen to people this young. I don't really have any answers to your question but just wanted to reach out and say hi, we're going through exactly the same ordeal!

Honestly love don't be worried!
just stay off google all the information about triple negative is wrong! I read it spreads faster and more aggressive and harder to treat but it's all crap! They told me not to panic it doesn't spread that fast and triple negative is the best at responding to chemo so they hope it will completely get rid of mine. I had all these thoughts I might die but my oncologist is so reassuring that this will be the best treatment, I'll go onto have kids naturally and due to my age and health the treat and after treatment will be easier for me

Your response is so positive, thank you so much! Yes, I've been googling away like mad, scaring myself silly. That's really useful to know triple negative responds the best to chemo; I just want to get on with the treatment and get rid of the little gremlin! Good to hear about having kids and all that too :happy:
